P2(a) Setting Up equipment

I borrowed the equipment used from the school’s media center. I was required to sign out the equipment with my student ID and have the equipment back at a specified time.
I used the Canon 7D DSLR that was available to students. I had to take out two cameras, one because I was filming with it and the other because it was a prop used in the film. I also kept the regular 85mm fixed lens that comes with the camera. I did not feel that this project required any different lens. It allowed me to keep a good focus on my subjects for most of my shots. I also required a zoom lens, as this lens is fixed and only allows you to change focus. I got the 75-300mm Zoom lens which allowed me to take the shots that had me zooming in on characters’ faces.
The school also gave me Velbon DV6000. With my camera. I only needed one tripod, as the other camera was for prop purposes only, and even when it was used to film it was used by hand. This is a good, sturdy tripod that came in handy for the shots I had to film outdoors.

Most of the film had music playing over it, so the audio that was recorded on the footage was not very important. For the end of the film where there is some dialogue, we used a Rode VMP Shotgun microphone that was received from the school. Because we were filming outside, this minimized the potential for windy or other street noises to interrupt our filming. We attached it to a boom pole so that we could have the microphone close to the speakers so that outside noise was cancelled out.
